Parents as Teachers

You are your child’s first teacher.  As your child grows, you continually look for new ways to foster your child’s development.

Parents as Teachers can offer you customized information and support. It’s a free service that any family can easily access.  And services can start at any time – from prenatal up until kindergarten entry.

We provide support as you:

• get ready to have your baby
• bond with your baby
• set up routines for feeding & sleep
• teach positive behaviors
• seek connections with other families
• explore resources in your community
• prepare for the transition to school
• create activities to support your child in developing:
  • language
  • movement
  • social play
  • learning

Services are provided by trained, certified early childhood professionals. We listen and tailor our approach to meet your family’s needs.

These services are free and we offer:

• playgroups
• visits in your home &/or community
• connections to community resources
• screenings to help you understand your child’s development
